Primary Responsibilities:
Reporting to the Director of Care, the incumbent will be responsible for serving the needs of the clients. This includes:
- Maintaining client records and required documentation in accordance with policies and procedures and legislative requirements.
- Interpreting and adhering to company policies, procedures, practices and philosophies.
- Managing medications as prescribed and observes changes in condition and reports them on the personal charts and to the Director of Care. Monitors the safekeeping of drugs and narcotics, and ensures narcotic count is correct.
- Assisting in maintaining a clean, safe environment for residents and personnel.
- Participating in orientation and in-service programs and on standing committees as assigned by the Director of Care.
- Liaising with family members when required and acting as a resource for questions, concerns regarding practices or related health care issues. Reports family concerns to the Director of Care and other staff.
- Reports unusual occurrences, safety hazards or illness or problems with clients to the Supervisor.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Performance Requirements
- Demonstrate the ability to interact effectively within the team, with residents and clients and families as well as external service resources.

- Demonstrate solid nursing skills.
Technical Skilled Required
Maintains a current registration as a Registered Nurse with CNO
- Knowledgeable of the Health and Safety regulations.
- Experienced in geriatric, rehabilitation or long term care.
- Approximately 5 -7 years of relevant experience.
- Valid First Aid and CPR Certificate.
- Good written and verbal English skills.
Physical Job Requirements
This position requires the incumbent to be able to:
- Work in an environment where there are many distractions and attention is needed on numerous issues at a time.
- Walking, stretching and standing on a variety of surfaces for at least 3 hrs per day.
- Lift alone, up to 40 pounds.
- Pushing, pulling wheeled equipment up to 50 pounds.
- Bending, stooping on a regular basis.
- Climbing stairs and able to work in confined spaces.
